ENTER THE VOID...

I watched Gaspar NoƩ's Enter The Void last night. At one point, my special lady, who was in and out of the apartment while the film was on, asked me why I would put myself through something like that. Needless to say, the film is intense and not for the faint of heart. Here, take a peek at the opening credits.

Yeah, and that's just the beginning. Couple that with death & despair, loss, ample amounts of screaming kids, drugs, hints at incest, a steady supply of nudity and graphic sex, transcendence, dark dreams, brutality, and hallucination, and you start to get a rounded out view of the film. Again, not for the faint of heart. Also, I had copped the directors cut which runs a total of 2h + 41m of this subject matter. That's pretty long. With all that said, I feel that it's a movie worth watching, if you really like movies. Gaspar is trying to break film making boundaries, expand visual horizons, and show us something new. After taking a day to process the imagery and storyline I can say that for me, he does just that. Sure the movie proves to be a bit sprawling, but the vision is there. Yeah, so here's the trailer...
